The Thunder of His Power

And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?” Job 26:14

If a car salesmen or an electronics salesman screams from the TV, I tune them out or turn them off. Doesn’t it make you nervous to have people shouting at you? These fellows are probably very nice people, but I’m not reached by shouting. I tend to lean towards the family or pet oriented commercials. For me watching uplifting and human interest commercials touch my heart. The writers of these commercials reach me in a powerful way.

It’s the same for us; our words are but the outer fringe of God’s works. We need to listen carefully as God speaks to us because it is but a faint whisper. What we pass along to others should be spoken in the same whispering voice, so the thunder of His power is received.  When we write, if our tone is  respectful  our message will settle in the reader’s heart. Eventually they understand the
strength of  His message will thunder in their spirit.

Lord, help us speak softly with words that touch hearts. Help us to be the whisper in our reader’s spirits.
